Face mask
In The Art of the Brick all visitors aged 13 or over are required to wear a face mask. A face mask does not mean you can ignore the 1.5 metre rule.
At least 1.5 metres distance
Keep at least 1.5 metres away from other people who are not members of your household. Children up to age 12 also need to keep a distance of 1.5 metres from each other and from adults. Young people aged between 13 and 17 inclusive, do not need to keep 1.5 metres from each other, but do need to do so from adults.
Disinfect your hands
We offer you the opportunity to disinfect your hands at various points in the exhibition. Please make use of this! All surfaces that can be touched within The Art of the Brick are disinfected by our staff several times per day.
Follow the route
Follow the route marked on the floor. A one-way system applies at The Art of the Brick. Once you have left a room you cannot return to it. You can only wait at designated areas. At the end of the route you return to the escalator and leave the exhibition.
Coronavirus symptoms
If you think you have any coronavirus symptoms, then stay home (and get tested) and plan your visit for another day once you are free of symptoms. If you belong to an at-risk group, we recommend you to visit The Art of the Brick in one of the first time slots on a weekday.
‘Flow-through location’
The Art of the Brick has been organised as a “one-way system”, an indoor space with a flow of visitors as you will typically see in monuments, libraries and museums. One-way systems mean that visitors walk along a route; there is one entrance and one exit; time slots apply; there is a protocol to ensure the location follows all the national Ministry of Health and sectoral guidelines and rules.
The number of visitors that can be admitted at any one time has been defined, taking into account the surface area of the location and the need to keep 1.5 metres apart. Our staff may ask you to wait a moment to ensure a better flow.
Please keep your distance from other visitors and our staff.
Museum Protocol
The day-to-day operations of The Art of the Brick is governed by the Museum protocol issued by the Dutch Museums Association. By strictly following this protocol we help to ensure safe and responsible museum visits.
The aim of the protocol for safe and responsible reopening of museums is for visitors to be able to visit museums together, and for volunteers, employees and suppliers who do not belong to at-risk groups for coronavirus to be able to safely work in the museum. The measures in the protocol are intended to prevent new infections with coronavirus and to limit the impact of the novavirus, without meaning that museums have to remain shut.
Our staff
Our staff wear masks that cover their nose and mouth, keep at least 1.5 metres distance, and regularly disinfect their hands. Before they start work every day, our employees make a health declaration.
