How long can I stay?

Corona
Is it safe to visit The Art of the Brick (COVID-19)?
We carefully follow the rules of the Ministry of Health and the Museums Association. We allow limited numbers of visitors to enter in fixed time slots spread throughout the day, following a one-way route through the exhibition.
You are required to wear a face mask everywhere in the building, and the air is constantly being replaced.

Tickets
Can I buy a ticket at the door?
There is no box office at the door. You will see a QR code displayed. If you scan this with your smartphone, you can instantly see if tickets are still available and you can buy them using your mobile phone (pay by Ideal or a credit card). If you need help with this, ask one of our employees to assist you.
I am unable to choose a day and time slot when booking.
Is your desired time slot not available? This could be for one of the following reasons:
- The time slot of your choice is sold out, the system always indicates the current availability. We do not have a reserve / waiting list.
- We are closed on the day you want to go. For the current opening hours, see the Opening hours page.
- The tickets cannot be ordered yet. Due to the corona measures, a limited number of tickets will be released in phases. Now you can book until the end of February 2021.
I have not received my e-ticket
You should have received your tickets within 45 minutes of ordering. First of all, check your spam folder in your email programme. Not there either? Send us an email at amsterdam@artofthebrick.nl.
How do time slots work?
Buy your ticket in advance and choose a time slot. The time slot you choose is your start time, and lasts 15 minutes. Arrive at the entrance to The Art of the Brick during that quarter of an hour. You can then stay in the exhibition for just as long as you like, until we close.
I arrived too early or too late for my time slot.
If you arrive at the start time shown on your ticket, you are guaranteed entry. If you miss your time slot, we will admit you as soon as a later time slot has enough spare capacity. If there is no more capacity that day, we will talk to you about which other day you can return.
I received a gift voucher; how do I now book a ticket?
Congratulations, what a great gift to receive (and to give)! A gift voucher works like a coupon when you pay for the ticket you selected. More details can be found on our gift voucher page.
The voucher itself is not valid for access to The Art of the Brick, because it has no date. Order the ticket you want here and when you are on the payment page, enter the code on your voucher in the “Promotion code” box. The value of your gift voucher is then deducted from your order.
Do I need to print out my ticket?
No, you don’t need to do that, we scan your ticket on your phone if your screen quality is good enough and set to full brightness. If you have doubts about that working, then print the tickets out before you come here.
Is my annual Museum Ticket valid?
The annual Museum Ticket is not valid for The Art of the Brick. We do not receive any subsidies and depend totally on the income from ticket sales and our exhibition shop.
Your visit
Are there plenty of toilets in the exhibition?

Is there a cloakroom for bags and coats?
You are not allowed to bring large items inside with you, such as umbrellas, large bags or rucksacks, trolleys, motorbike helmets, etc. We provide lockers to store these safely for a small fee (€2.00 for 2 hours). Indeed, in 2014 a different set of The Art of the Brick was presented in an exhibition room in the Amsterdam Zuidas. This set has been joined by the amazing gallery In Pieces, a collaboration between Lego artist Nathan Sawaya and fashion photographer Dean West.
